Planning Summer Essentials

Hello Lovelies!

I am super excited for the next three months. I have no work! Although, I do have my Master's classes until June 28th and I am working on my thesis. I still don't have any obligation to wake up early or be anywhere! This brings me to have some downtime to really get journaling and reflecting. Planning may be on the back burner, but it's a quick way to keep me being productive during my summer vacation.

I put together a list of some essential items that I have been using and will continue to use. It's easy to over think the supplies you need for journaling and planning.

All you really need is maybe a notebook, some pencils, and you're good! If you do like other ephemera you can use that too!  Here is what I use during the summer. Of course these are only the essentials things I take on the go (it may be a lot but I can't help it!)

The Micron pens are amazing because they hold up really well with watercolors :) You can either watercolor first and then write or vise versa! 

The Staedler pens are a great way to add quick color to your pages! I use them to highlight my lettering and to color in the weather trackers ;) 

Sticker binders where all the rage and I bought this cute little one from Cori at The Reset Girl shop a while ago. The one below is from walmart for $1. I love adding my new stickers in them and they are easy to put in my planning bag! (stickers shown are from a cute little etsy shop Hurry Up & Plan

The watercolors are so simple and I actually "borrowed" them from my classroom! It is a plain crayola set and I love the color options!

So I said that you can use any old notebook for journaling/planning and that'll be fine. It will be! But from my experience unless my notebook is pretty and something I want to hold and-lets face it- sniff sometimes, I won't use it often. This is where my ever favorite Foxy Fix Notebooks come in.

Foxy Fix Review: Rowena 2.0

Rowena 2.0. That's the name of the newest leather of the Foxy Fix Collection and I have to say, after feeling it for five minutes I get it. I get the reason why I continue to add to my Foxy Cover collection. Leather is a fabric that has spirit. There is something to be said about a cozy day sipping coffee and writing in your leather notebooks. Almost as if the treasures inside are kept safe through the leather protection.

Rowena 2.0...Is a rich chocolate with a bit of spice added. It's a 4/5 oz. leather that is so soft and supple...

It's more flexible than the bay leathers. 

I bought the petit no.2 (pocket size) It fits so perfectly in my hand and it will be a great one to throw in my purse on the go!

(At the end of the post I added the notebook and cover guides from the Foxy Fix website so you can make sure to get exactly what you want. They even created a number system so you don't accidentally order the wrong size inserts :) )

And the smell....Oh my gosh the smell! As soon as it enters my system, I'm completely taken to spot in the wild sunflower fields of Oregon. It was my great aunts farm and smelled of leather in her barn near her pond... Complete euphoria.

At Foxy Fix, they give you the choice to have no pockets or pockets. I tend to get the pockets every time so I can put embellishments, cards, paperclips, etc. in them. It makes it more personal to each individual. This is the front pocket:

The inside of the Rowena 2.0 is amazing and raw. Not the raw of an unfinished product, but the raw of handmade, by the hands of artisans.

Inside the Foxy Notebook!

These notebook inserts. So simple yet so pretty! Foxy Fix uses premium royal craft covers, premium 70 lb. text pages, white paper, light grey 5mm dot grid and 48 pages!!! These are very versatile. I even watercolor in them with minimal bleed through. Plus, the packaging is just too cute, you almost don't want to open these babies!

Buying these beautiful, handmade leather pieces of art has been one of the best things that I have done for myself! I have been inspired by Kelly, Jordan and Foxy Fix in so many ways, and because of their amazing artisan creations, I now have a special place for my memories to live on forever. April Favorites!

It's already May?! Where did April go? Life is going by so quickly....

Here are my April Favorite:

Who is "Little Miss Alaska" ?!

In this world, where life is fast and furious and sometimes tough, there's nothing more important than intimate and authentic reflection...

Putting pen to paper, not worrying about the actual penmanship but capturing the little moments that make life real, raw and beautiful. This is where I gather favorite memories, share my own creative expression in soul, writing, creating, and living. This is my window to find commonality and kindred spirits! I want to find my tribe, and through the community of journaling and planning I have found my soul sisters (#planneraddict #journalingcommunity #planningcommunity) 

This little corner of the endless tabs on the internet, this little blog is my blank canvas. I'm so excited to splatter some paint on! It's a new leather journal complete with stickers, stamps and pens that I can't wait to write on. It's an empty scrapbook that is begging to be filled. is my happy place where I get to share with you my journaling and planning style, new jewelry I have created, tips, tricks and tutorials! 

So pretend I have just invited you over for a cup of coffee, it's ok. I'll let you use one of my favorite owl mugs, we can sit and talk about this fast and furious ride called life. And we'll create some masterpieces.
